Creating a site specific mosaic floor tile mural from start to finish.

Clay tiles dried between flats of sheet rock to keep them from warping. Clay is bisque fired to cone04, about 1000C

A custom pallet of eight glaze colors are worked out and tested for this project, using the same semi-matte base glaze. Photos of peacocks does help in glaze decisions.

Brushing and trailing glaze emerge as the most efficient technique of application. Great detail and richer hues are possible with hand brushing.
